We are delighted to announce that Mark Seven finally plays Nightflight on Saturday August 27th. His name may not be familiar to many but his legendary dj mixes have earned him a cult like status among Disco, Balearic and Leftfield music enthusiasts all over the world.
His real name is Mark Cheney and he was born just down the road from the M4 in a town called Berkshire. Mark entered the underground music scene via the Acid House and early rave culture era in the UK back in the late 80s. He began DJing since his hard-earned money at the time allowed him to start buying records. From then on he spent his days as a vinyl junkie and nights trying to get into such legendary places as Delirium and Dingwalls. He cites the Boys Own collective, Andy Weatheral and Danny Rampling, as inspirations and infamous nights like Shoom, Future and Spectrum as life defining.
Mark’s DJing career spans four decades. From humble beginnings of playing in the back rooms of pubs and farmyard barns he went on to support some of the biggest names of the 90s dance music scene in some of the largest clubs in the UK. Today Mark frequently plays to gigs around the world to discerning fans.
His ability to both unearth rare forgotten gems and lay waste to a dance floor with his exceptional DJ skills have led to him becoming one of the most highly regarded DJs in leftfield dance music today.
After following an Au Pair to Sweden, he set up base there in the late 90s. He deals vinyl online from his Jus Wax online store while DJing regularly in Stockholm.
