October is going to be busy for Skinny Wolves, we have at least 5 gigs and one release happening. Good times!
This, the first one, features LOVVERS, who have already given us 3 7" of 80’s style SST/ SUB POP dirty dissonant roll on the floor frantic punk rock. They have already been ‘Black Flagging’ it around the UK for years, touring with No Age, Times New Viking, Jay Reatard, Fucked Up etc, giving us unforgettable and unpredictable live shows. Expect this to be no different.
Also, look out for a new 12"/EP in September from LOVVERS, on WICHITA Records, (home to big stars such as Les Savy Fav, Blood Brothers, Simian Mobile Disco etc…)
Special guests on the night are the always awesome, BATS, and the much anticipated, WEIL RATS, are playing their debut show. Watch out!

THE KIDS ARE ALRIGHT.
Great bands do not gain popularity, develop musically or give you what you want; based nowhere and residing pretty much everywhere Lovvers is compromised of four ambitious no body’s; that have tellingly appeared at a moment in musical history that can only described as a yawning deluded mess.
Two years in and having trawled the UK time and time again, playing nearly 200 shows and sharing multiple gigs with bands like Butthole Surfers, No Age, Times New Viking, Jay Reatard, Awesome Color, Mika Miko, Fucked Up, Black Lips, Brutal Knights……..
Lovvers are a strange mix of music’s forgotten / blank generation, re-calling the spirit of Darby Crashes Germs, the weirdness of Flipper, Wipers style pop and the careless attitude of The Replacements; at one show a girl was so confused / annoyed that she wrote to KERRANG! describing there music as highly offensive, wanting to erase them from her mind.
Having been written about or featured in most major magazines, it appears the select few have largely missed the point of Lovvers.
Maybe it’s because they have no idea of their context or the idea of this music isn’t anything they’ve experience directly? Instead they continue to focus on the bands stunning good looks and hair colour, for this select group of writers music has to be defined to a style or pigeonholed with a brand.
After the release of four noisy and highly questionable 7inchs (Three on the Jonson Family record label and one a 4 way band split release on OIB records) the band are now pursuing a career with the shady folk at Wichita recordings.
Lovvers debut release with Wichita comes in the form of a 7 song CD/LP entitled THINK. Clocking in at just under 13minutes, it gives you the perfect amount of time you need to piss off your boss, quit your job and throw out those shitty records you keep getting told to buy.

"Formed in the early part of the Pliocene age, BATS (featuring ex-members of Martha Washington) have spent millions of years developing their sound from a series of intermittent bleeps to the graceful sonic bullets they create today. 4 out of 5 BATS hail from Ireland's alpha-smoke- Dublin, while the other crawled his way on bloody knuckles out of the haunted town of Carbury, Kildare in the mid 1600's. In early 2007 BATS began peddling their love around the island and have since played support to such acts as Gang Gang Dance, Down I Go, The Locust and Liars. December 2007 saw the release on independent label Armed Ambitions of their debut EP entitled 'Cruel Sea Scientist' and the frightening of some smaller children. Strong supporters of the Earth to space elevator and strong opposers of the plan to strip-mine the moon for Helium 3, BATS strive to disperse their audio seed into the ears and minds of as many receptive humans as possible. They do so with valiant gusto and in the face of a limited gene pool. A product of Natural Selection, a constant source of erection. BATS."
