LONDON EMISSIONS ZONE (LEZ) CHARGE from 3rd January 2012 (1 Viewer)

To all bands planning on any tours in the UK, From 3rd January 2012 there will be an emissions charge of £100 for any van entering the Greater London Area (Basically the Border is the M25).

Check http://www.tfl.gov.uk under "London congestion charge" there's a subsection explaining it better. Enter your Car/Van Regrestration Number and Model and you will see if you have to pay or not.

Apparently they have an Private International branch that will chase up non-UK vans, Not to mention they supposidly have cameras surrounding the M25.

This has already fucked up two tours! Lets hope its not much more!

that's pretty fucked. how long inside the M25 does €100 get you? i don't see how they can enforce it with non-uk vehicles, though.

apparently they have a private european agency to chase up potential fines for non UK van's

if you pay £100 its only for the day you pay it so if you com in at 11pm and leave at 1am its £200, confirmed from a phonecall to enquiries earlier, this is REALY fucked!!!

For the day? That's wild. How are tradesmen/couriers/etc supposed to make a living? What about people living in London? Still, Private agency or no, I don't see how they can enforce it in different jurisdictions.

They'll send lots of threatening letters hoping to scare you into giving them the money. That's usually about the height of it with these private collection agencies.

that is mental alright. £100 for a day. cant see it working but wouldn't like to get stung with a bill of £200.
