anyone know anything about this place:
"As you may or may not be aware, The RedRoom at Trinity Rooms has recently had a change of colour and direction and is now the (Heineken) GreenRoom at Trinity rooms. At first, apart from the obvious need to change all the red light bulbs to green, this would not appear to make a huge difference, however, upon closer inspection the differences begin to become more appreciatable. Numero uno on the list is the greenrooms dedication to producing and promoting live, original and, as much as possible, Irish music. We are currently putting the finishing touchs on our new stage, sticking up a basic lighting rig and have a small, but powerful and sturdy, AcousticLine PA ready to go. The bar itself is not that big, (max. capacity 140 officially), but is a nice venue to play. It’s basically a longish rectangle that still features the old red brick arches of the cellar it once was. The stage is at one end and plays back to the entire rectangle, no annoying nooks or crannies with bad views or sound quality, in fact the curved nature of the arches seems to give a very consistent acoustic from front to back. Also, because of the above, it is a very good venue from an audience perspective with that “Beatles in the Cavern Club” thing going on in a big way. Just recently we played host to such acts as The Republic of Loose and Mainline and will be featuring The Rulers of the Planet, Sylvia Saint and local lads Giveamanakick over the next few weeks. We have also had some recent success with singer songwriter nights and feel it is an area we would like to pursue more fully.
We have in the last week or two been in contact with some of the local labels in the Munster area and they have been pitching to us the idea of “Label Nights” and “CD Launches”. Again, given that such nights usually involve the introduction of new original bands/artists, we would be more than happy to hear from Labels about any ideas they may have for such events.
As you also may or may not be aware the GreenRoom is just one part of the Trinity Rooms setup. Trinity Rooms is a three room (the clue was in the name) entertainment venue, which, along with the GreenRoom, also houses two nightclubs, the Quarter Club and the Main Room. One or both of these clubs runs seven nights a week and, as part of any gig run in the GreenRoom, we can offer free entry to whichever club is running as part of the entrance fee to the gig. We find this is a very helpful promotion tool and also adds to the whole experience for everyone involved usually resulting in even more positive feedback than standard gig nights that are limited to pub times.
*As I said at the outset, producing live original music is our main goal and I would hope that by hooking up with folk such as yourselves that we could figure out ways to do this and also best serve your needs. I would be very interested in hearing from you about any acts, large or small, you think could benefit from playing a venue of this size and type. "
That was their mailout.
