Here is a picture of him when I saw him over the summer

he was very good, a lot of hardcore fans at it

My first gig was Garbage at King's Hall, Belfast in Jan 1999.

Btw, where was the SFX?

the St.Francis Xavier hall. Just off the North Circular Road between Croke Park and Dorset St (about halfway - to the left as you're heading towards Dorset St). It was an old bingo hall they started using for gigs as far as I know

SFX could be very sweaty. No bar, no cloakroom, just smoke.

and a filthy jacks.

Suzanne Vega at the national stadium in 1990 was my first gig when i was 13. Myself and a friend decided not to go see tanita tikaram there a month or two earlier incase we weren't allowed to also go the suzanne vega gig so soon afterwards. my big sister had to accompany us. She started with Rusted Pipe off Days Of Open Hand which sounded quite avant garde to me at the time. for the encore she played the queen and the soldier on her own, then she came back again with the full band and played an amazing version of Wooden Horse.

i doubt a better time has been had by any audience in the national stadium than we had at the crowded house gig there in 1992. totally deadly gig, more fun than even the flaming lips.

Status Quo, naitonal stadium 1992, then def lepard in 93 in the point.....awesomeness, revolving in the round stage....good times

MetallicA and Danzig Top Hat October 1988

They need to bring back Larks in the Parks. .

ah, was working my way down to saying that my first gig was Brush Shields at the Lark in the Park! Maybe 82-83?
That was an eye opener alright. People drunk and kissing in public. Rockin'.
