You're right about Tanya Donnelly, she is the Godmother of that that vocal style. I used to be mad about her, back in the day. But for me, she seemed to lose her muse after the brilliant first Belly album (in my opinion!). She sounds great on Love Cats there.

Ah now, that second Belly album is amazing, different style to the first but still great.

But yeah, her solo stuff is a bit hit and miss from what I can tell. Actually I don't have it all so i'm gonna go get it and report back.
