Anybody have this pedal? For a bog standard monophonic ocatve down jobby it seems great value, but i'd like to get some opinions.

Ya, it's good for a massive, deep octave-down on a single note part, but for a more versatile, cheap octave pedal go for the EH MicroPog. Great craic. Octave up and down, and handles chords quite well too. I love mine forever.

I've got a micropog and I love it too. It tracks really well, particularly if you're playing barre chords or chords at the nut. However a lot of my chord voicings are played around frets 5, 7, 8 and 9 and the interval between the open strings and the fretted notes can cause problems. I also find that I often have to throw a lot of reverb on to the effects chain too to take a little of the metallic harshness off the pitch shifted sound. It's not the most transparent pedal though, even if you're playing single notes it's obvious that you're running some sort of effect on the signal as opposed to the Digitech whammy which pitch shifts down pretty well and is not too obviously effecty to my ear (but it can't track multiple notes for shit, quickish picking is okay, but play more than one note at the same time, urrgh.)

So in conclusion Mark, I've never played the pedal you asked about but can provide unrelated bullshit on other bits of gear. Perhaps some of the stuff I wrote about the pog re: the clangy timbre still applies.

HA! thanks for nowt dudes:p

the micro POG is €180, the original POG is €280. for the high up organy sound i'm planning on saving up and getting the original POG. in the short term i'm after something simple that I can use for bass. the octave multiplerer seems worth checking out.
