Just came back from the Cornered / Deal With It tour, which was a blast. Playing in countries where I’ve never played before like Sweden and Hungary was truly amazing, but also the other shows like Hengelo, Paris and Dresden were crazy. On top of that we also played a few songs at the Ieper Fest, where Lewd Acts, On, Trash Talk and 108 played absolutely amazing sets as well. You can read a tour report in the upcoming Crucial Attack newsletter.

The Cornered - Demo 7” should be here at the end of the week, just in time for Some Hardcore Fest hopefully. Of course you can still order a limited colored copy at www.crucialattack.nl. Next coming on Crucial Attack is the Tenement Kids – Doves LP (finally!) and Gewapend Beton – Empty Batteries repress, so stay tuned!

Meanwhile a lot of new stuff came in our distro, here’s a list…

NEW DISTRO ITEMS

Bad Seed - Self Titled 7" (6131 Records) - 5 euro
If there was a nuclear holocaust and popular culture and music were wiped out, only Bad Seed would remain, like the cockroach that cannot be killed. Combining the best elements of your favorite NYHC bands, Bad Seed shows their tenacity that will keep them going strong when the rest of the world falls by the wayside. For fans of Merauder, Blacklisted, Life Of Agony, Leeway, Trapped Under Ice and Hatebreed. 7' comes with digital download.
Deep Sleep – Paranoid Futures 7” (Grave Mistake Records) – 4 euro
'Paranoid Futures' delivers six more infectious tracks brimming with the frustrations and anxieties that coincide with the rigors of everyday life. Continuing where 2008's 'Manic Euphoria' 7' left off, 'Paranoid Futures' finds the band separating themselves even further from the simple 'short and fast' method which laid the groundwork for their debut EP. Opting for a more dynamic approach Deep Sleep delve even further into the melodic All/Descendents influenced brand of punk rock while maintaining a healthy dose of both attitude and originality.
Human Demise / Worth The Pain – Split 7” (WTF Records) – 4.50 euro
Human Demise brings you crushing, bile spitting hardcore with dark metallic twists and one hell of a throat; the vocals are downright spine-chilling, the screams fit the ominous atmosphere perfectly. Worth The Pain is one of the most respected and hard-working bands to come from Lappeenranta, Finland. They have managed to create a familiar yet distinguishable style of metallic hardcore. For Fans Of: Sworn Enemy, Kickback, Hatebreed, Integrity and Strife.
Integrity - Walpurgisnacht 7" (A389 Records) - 4.50 euro
Dwid and company return with two new Integrity tracks complete with Cleveland-styled
lead guitars, dark imagery and his classic howled vocals.
Iron Age - The Sleeping Eye LP/CD (Tee Pee Records) - 17/14 euro
Austin, TX's Iron Age have been slugging it out in hardcore and punk circles since the middle of the decade, touring North America and abroad with such contemporary hardcore luminaries as Rise And Fall, Cold World, Fucked Up and Trash Talk while steadily honing the riffed-out hardcore sound established on their 2006 debut 'Constant Struggle.' With 'The Sleeping Eye,' Iron Age remains a modern torchbearer for the long tradition established by the crossover classics (Corrosion Of Conformity's 'Animosity,' Crumbsuckers' 'Life Of Dreams,' Cro-Mags' 'Best Wishes'),
but twists the NYHC inspired thrash of their debut to create something bigger and darker, enhancing the violence of their former efforts with mammoth Lovecraftian atmopshere. 'The Sleeping Eye' is a sprawling modern heavy metal opus that doesn't forsake its hardcore roots, but follows them to their sonic extremities, forging a sound that honors the crossover forefathers while treading new ground in brutal atmosphere and doomy ambiance.
The Ladies – Self Titled 7” (Grave Mistake Records) – 4 euro
The debut EP from Richmond, VA's The Ladies. Originally released in 2008 on Riff Raff Records, Grave Mistake has been given the honor to handle the repress to coincide with their two new venomous singles on No Way and Cowabunga. Raw and obnoxious, yet catchy as well, reminiscent of early Dwarves, with a couple of short and fast rippers thrown in to keep the crowd moving and the beer flying. Five obscene and insulting punk anthems guaranteed to hurt someone's feelings.
Logic Problem – No Center 7” (Grave Mistake Records) – 4 euro
With 'No Center,' North Carolina's Logic Problem deliver up four more abrupt bursts of fast and raw hardcore. While their debut EP seemed to separately showcase two different sides of the band, this new EP finds Logic Problem hitting a perfect balance between the noise/feedback drenched discordance and the straightforward fast hardcore delivery. Logic Problem summon an ominous and chaotic element to keep things interesting while still managing to keep it short and to the point for maximum impact.
Nitad - Ge Oss Mer 7" (No Way Records) - 4.25 euro
Originally released on Kranium Records a couple years ago in a small run of 200 copies, this ep was just TOO good to keep it out of print and unavailable for mass consumption. 5 tracks here, and for sure none of them will dissapoint. If you've heard their lp or past few 7'es, you know they are a swedish hardcore punk powerhouse. They have a hard sound to describe as it's pummeling with power, yet still keeping the melody and staying catchy enough to remember what's going on ever after listening. NITAD have been on their A game for the last couple years and it doesn't look they plan on slowing down.
No Bullshit vol. 4 - Compilation 7" (No Way Records) - 4.25 euro
Brand new installment in our No Bullshit series. This time we have CITIZENS PATROL, ANTI YOU, BORN BAD, CIVIC PROGRESS, LOGIC PROBLEM, VIOLENT ARREST and INSOMNIO. All great tracks in the usual no bullshit tradition.
Red Handed – Brainchild LP (Twelve Gauge Records) – 10 euro
This is Red Handed's second LP, "Brainchild." With 14 tracks of raw hardcore punk, the band has finally found a sound all their own. For fans of Black Flag, The Nerve Agents and Shark Attack. LP comes with a digital download.
Reproach – Self Titled LP (Holy Shit Records) – 10 euro
Repress of the debut full length of Belgium’s Reproach.
Rotting Out - Vandalized 7" (6131 Records) - 5 euro
Over the past two years, Rotting Out has been gathering a rabid fan base along the west coast with their thrashy hardcore that has the youthful energy of early Descendents and the unabashed intensity of Black Flag and Suicidal Tendencies. Along with their intense touring and debut EP, 'Vandalized,' Rotting Out is set to take over the punk and hardcore scenes. Rotting Out is proud to wave the flag of Southern California and soon the world will know what the west coast has to offer. 7' includes digital download.
The Setup – Crawl And Reign 7” (Demons Run Amok Records) – 4 euro
Dethrone the gods and hold the crown to reign... the Setup is back with five devastating tracks that spit anger, rage and frustration. After five years the Setup is still here... Stronger than ever!
Short Fuse – Burnout LP (Hardware Records) – 10 euro
Just 12 new tracks. Dirty, raw, no frills Hardcore Punk from Germany.
Stay Hungry – No Beginning, No End 12” (Reflections Records) – 11 euro
Let's keep things easy and to the point and quote the band: “ Having seen the loudest come and go. Having survived trends and fashions. Having entered a scene as kids and grown up to be adults within it. Having lost illusions. Standing united with one single mission: to unleash hell, promote Straight Edge and speak the truth. Musically, the best soundtrack to this attitude is to combine the musical components we love the most: hammering speed and punishing mosh parts.” Stay Hungry, from Sweden, play the real deal: Straight Edge hardcore... At it's hardest!
Trapped Under Ice - Secrets Of The World LP (Reaper Records) - 13 euro
Continuing where 2008's 'Stay Cold' EP left off, 'Secrets Of The World' is the twelve-track full length from Maryland's new standard bearers of hardcore. The album is designed to inspire self-reflection in a world that leaves you beaten and bleeding. For fans of Crown Of Thorns, Madball and Terror. Vinyl version includes digital download.
