Michigan is proud to recognize the many men and women of our state who served in U. S. military service. Michigan residents who received the Purple Heart award as a result of being wounded in combat while in U. S. military service are eligible for the Combat Wounded Veteran plate.

The plates are available in either the blue and white design or the graphic design. The fee is the regular vehicle registration fee plus a one-time service fee of $5 for a blue and white plate or $10 for a graphic plate. The vehicle registration fee must still be paid on a yearly basis.

Veterans interested in obtaining one of these plates must apply at their local Secretary of State office by submitting a completed
Application for Veteran License Plates.
