We have had many situations on PI in the past where the PI mods talked through suicide OPs and it was very harrowing all round. One mod had to drink half a bottle of brandy after the ordeal he was so shaken up. I think it was then that the decision was made to never let a suicide thread continue, it's best to leave someone's life up to trained professionals.

Oh go and fuck off. Really. Get a fucking grip on yourself. There are ways of directing someone to get help without being so fucking dismissive. That kind of response to a post could tip someone over the edge. And even if one of you pm'd the person with a kind word (which I doubt with Thaedyl) it's still there on a public forum that a young woman made a cry for help and you essentially told her to fuck off somewhere else. I can't believe how brazen and up your own hole you are.

Actually Gordon, you know what. Those threads that I argue with you and the other moderators in - I have severe social anxiety to the point of physical pain in it's extremities. It is not easy for me to do. I cringe all over going back to those pages, but my conscience tells me people like you at the end of the day need to be fought to the bitter end. I don't tend to deal with my problems by drinking, but I can say that you and your actions have caused me several bouts of depression, anxiety, aggression that would otherwise be rarer for me. I have ended up falling out with friends for a few days even because I (unfairly) took out some of that aggression on them. I am actually not normally aggressive, so it catches them by surprise.

I am in an extremely high risk group for suicide, and my bouts of depression are usually triggered by feeling powerless in some capacity, dealing with people who refuse to reason. It is not your place to judge someone, like Karl Hungus does, for gettng upset over the internet. There are real people there, and real people who represent the problems this country faces with it's leadership and socialising. It is entirely possible your moderation style has almost directly driven people to suicide, and you don't even know because of the size of the forum. I would not do it, purely because of my hotblooded nature(not the same as being constantly on the aggressive, as I've already stated I'm not) - instead you have a life enemy determined to some day find a way to get every single member to wake up and realise what you are.

I am not lying about any of this nor do I have reason to, as it's severely embarassing. I am aware of how my ranting comes off to you, but it doesn't disprove my point.

I am but one of many people that your totalitarianism has affected.

Why do you care so much about that one mod on one occassion? What about the people you affect. I don't think you understand that even when I'm entirely calm, I'm completely disgusted with you and your mods as people, and given I'm considerably more rational than most of the boards mods, that is not something you should ignore.

I use the word sociopath for a reason, it's actually outdated as a medical term, so I mean people that display those characteristics in general. The post I'm quoting here is evidence that you and the boards mods chose a persona similar to that of a sociopath. Your disregard of those in need is unbelievable.

i'm down with diddles on this one, the internet is a social medium, locking a thread like that is essentially locking somone out of conversation. imagine being at a bar and coming out with that, and somone saying 'shut the fuck up' we dont talk about your problems, their not aiding the conversation. the mod who hit the brandies after the suicide thread; must have concioulsy taken it into their own hands to give advice in the first place, unless there some underlying policy that all questions are answerable or otherwise deemed invalid for conversation.

It's great that you guys would sit up all night with someone in that situation, I applaud you for that. We're just not equipped for it.

Maybe this brings up a need for such discussion websites, you guys should set it up if you are so passionate about it.

A lot of the problem with boards is that they're so paranoid with legal issues it's robbed them of their sense. Do you think that a suicide thread is going to result in boards being sued? Really? Most people feel some kind of duty to be nice to people in this threads, apart from your goddamn mods. Unless it's somewhere like 4chan, people are going to be friendly.

If anything they'll be suing you for locking their threads. Did it not even occur to you? To moderators, locking doesn't even register as an "action".

Are you actually bothering your hole reading anything we write? Mayhap if you spent some time reading our posts before formulating your brainless automatic responses you might take a few things on board. It's like talking to the fucking wall. No-one suggested staying up all night conversing with a troubled poster. And if you think that a moderator giving out a phone number and locking a thread without a single word of encouragement or sympathy is being 'helpful' then maybe you should get yourself seen to.
