Girl Band – The Early Years EP & US Tour News

News of a US tour – including a stop at SXSW – and a new EP collecting some previously released material from Girl Band

The Early Years collects (on very limited 12” vinyl and digital, U.S./Canada exclusive) tracks Girl Band has released via various hand-crafted formats over the past year-and-change: hand-stamped singles, flexi-discs in wooden boxes, screenprinted 7” sleeves tied with twine – only available through mailorder and their merch table.

The young Dublin foursome are creating vital, propulsive, and almost terrifyingly energetic noise-rock that pulls as much influence from classic techno as from their more obvious post-punk, noise and industrial predecessors.

The band’s music and stunning frenzy of their live show already has critics pulling out their satchels of underused adjectives.

The track list is

1 – Lawman
2 – De Bom Bom
– I Love You (Beat Happening cover)
– Why They Hide Their Bodies Under My Garage? (Blawan cover)
– The Cha Cha Cha

The Early Years can be preordered from Rough Trade. Those US tour dates are:

March 12 – Brooklyn, NY – Baby’s All Right
March 13 – New York, NY – Mercury Lounge
March 14 – Philadelphia, PA – MilkBoy
March 15 – Washington, DC – Black Cat Backstage
March 18-21 – Austin, TX – SXSW
March 26 – Los Angeles, CA – The Echo
March 27 – San Francisco, CA – Rickshaw Stop

A little closer to home, Girl Band will also be playing this year’s Longitude festival in Marlay Park in July.
