Brought to you by the good folk at Club Psychotic Reaction, PSYCHO FEST, now in it’s fourth year, is Dublin’s premier all day rock’n’roll festival. This year the mayhem takes place in Dublin’s newest and coolest venue, the Twisted Pepper, on Middle Abbey Street, where you can witness the very best in Irish garage, psych, indie and rock’n’roll with acts like the 202s, New Amusement, Humanzi, Mighty Stef, Wounds, Brothers Movement, Hot Sprockets and many more.

Tickets are available from the Bodytonic site at an early bird special price of €10 for the month of May only! Tickets after that time are €15 and can also be bought at the door. CDs with a track from each of the acts on the bill will be available free to the first 100 entrants (CDs for previous PSYCHO FESTS are traded like gold dust these days, so get there early!)
And the lineup is:
New Amusement
Since forming in 2007, Dublin band new|amusement have released a six track mini-album (Any Port In A Storm, April 2008) as well as a double A-side 7 inch (Jamboree/Shocks, March 2009) both on Any Other City Records, with the latter receiving radio airplay from the likes of Steve Lamacq (who made new|amusement his Unsigned Band of the Week) and Jean-Pierre Sablier of Virgin Radio France. These releases, along with strong live performances, have earned them support slots with Nada Surf, British Sea Power, Blood Red Shoes, Maximo Park and Vampire Weekend, as well as a set at last year’s Oxegen festival. The band will record their debut full length album this summer with its release planned towards the end of 2009. www.myspace.com/newamusement

202s
202s are a band with a healthy appreciation for the past, but a burning, lustful passion for the future. Their debut album, released by Parisian indie label le son du maquis is an eclectic affair taking in synth pop, ambient instrumentals, psych folk flavours and more and has invited comparisons with artists including Sterolab, Flaming Lips, Kraftwerk, Air, Eno, the Velvet Underground and Can.

Humanzi
Following a seemingly two-year silence, Humanzi are now locked and loaded and ready to fire out their most exciting offerings to date. A move to Berlin from Dublin in early 2007 culminated in an album that can be described as a passionate and daring body of work. On the live circuit, new material has evoked excitement so, be sure to catch them live at Psychofest ’09, which will be the last night of their Irish summer tour. New single ‘BassBalls’ comes out on 7inch and digital download from June 5th on Kick In The Eye Records.  www.myspace.com/humanzi

The Hot Sprockets
The Hot Sprockets hail from the suburbs of Dublin .  They are five friends who came together with a shared love of rock’n’roll music, the kind haunted by the ghost of country and blues. Take the good-time revolutionary spirit of MC5, simmer it down to the sounds of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, add some rough-edged style of Eagles of Death Metal and your close to the perfect recipe for a beautiful sonic nugget that we like to call ‘The Hot Sprockets.”

Cautionary Folk tales, Tender dirges about love, goodtime rock’n’roll and euphoric pop anthems….Call The Fuckin’ Gards!!!
