A three part series of free events that pit artists against each other in a ‘UV Art-Off‘ with a dance soundtrack visits Dublin, Cork & Galway during October and November, all courtesy of Heineken.

Calling at Dublin, Cork and Galway, Heineken Expression will pit creatives against each other in a live UV ‘art off’ whilst providing a winning soundtrack to dance the night away. Acts including The Field, InFlagranti, Shit Robot and The Juan MacClean will perform against a backdrop of developing art as illustrators etch their creations onto UV walls.

The first stop off is Tripod in Dublin on the 22nd October. A stellar musical line up features cosmic rockers Inflagranti all the way from Brooklyn, DFA’s The Juan MacClean, Sweden’s minimal techno aficionado The Field, Wicklow’s very own Sarsparilla and the multi talented Donal Dineen. Illustrators on the night include TADO, Serge Seidlitz, Phil Dunne, Steve Simpson, Chris Judge, Gaetan Billault, BRENB & danleo.

Next up is Karma in Galway on the 27th October. Musically, a celebration of all things Irish and electronic. Marcus Lambkin, better known as Shit Robot has been splitting his time between Dublin, New York and Berlin makes the journey to Ruairi’s homeland of Galway for the night. Fresh from eclectic sets at Sonar and Oxegen, Ruairi will be joined by Prins Thomas favourite Mano. Galway favourite Cian O’Ciobhain completes off the line up. Illustrators on the night include Phil Dunne, Steve Simpson, Chris Judge, Gaetan Billault and BRENB.

The last stop is The Classic in Cork on 13th November. Shit Robot ventures to the People’s Republic to join local man and host Jamie Behan. Since his time running Bastardo Electrico in the legendary Sir Henry’s Jamie has played at numerous clubs and now has residencies at Schmutzig at Tikki Lounge and Junction in Dublin. Joining them are DMC champion TuKi; electro producer Dancepig and Today FM’s Donal Dineen. Illustrators on the night include Phil Dunne, Steve Simpson, Chris Judge, Gaetan Billault and BRENB.

Mike and Katie are TADO, two very hard working people who do graphic design, illustration, animation, toy design, and a bit of everything in between. They are based in Sheffield, UK, enjoy ice cream and playing with their daft dogs. Serge Seidlitz
Born in Africa and living in London, Serge went to art school in London, worked for Cartoon Network for a while and now works fulltime as a freelance illustrator. He has worked with all the big guys including NME, MTV, VH1 and Time Out www.sergeseidlitz.com

Phil Dunne
A graduate of NCAD, Phil has been drawing, painting, doodling and generally having crazy creative thoughts for 29 years. He works on illustrations for advertisements, magazines, design books, events and more. His varied client list includes Sony Playstation, Barry’s Tea, 3Mobile, Candy Collective and more. Steve Simpson
Steve Simpson has been creating award winning illustration for major ad & design companies for the last 15 years. His characters have appeared on everything from postage stamps to 48 sheets, snack packaging to gourmet pies and plenty more beside. In recent years he’s been illustrating children’s books both in Ireland and in the States. His impressive client list includes international names such as Kellogg’s, Coca-Cola and Microsoft as well as some closer to home, such as Guinness, RTE and the IRFU Mascot (you may see him run on Lansdowne Road before rugby matches). www.stevesimpson.com

Chris Judge
Chris Judge is an illustrator and painter based in Dublin. He mostly divides his time between commercial work and personal projects as well as procrastinating as often as possible. All done from the comfort of his cave-like studio in Dublin’s city centre. He is a member of the Irish Guild of Illustrators and is currently the promotions officer, organising illustration based events throughout the year. As well as being a contributor to illustration blog Scamp.ie he is also a member of Tiny Little Horse. Gaetan Billault
Born in France,Gaetan Billault graduated from the ESAAB with an honours degree in Graphic Design and Visual Communications. He worked in top Parisian agencies Crazybaby and later Icone Paris. His ambition was to create his own experimental design practice and he did it! Combining illustration, graphic design and textiles he attempts to create a natural bond between these disciplines. He currently has a diverse freelance practice and includes Irish club promoting giants, Bodytonic and Graphic design agencies, Red Dog, Studio AAD. www.gaetan-billault.com

BRENB
BRENB is a full time illustrator based in Dublin. He is a co-founder of Tiny Little Horse, a design collective designing screen-printed and digital Gig Posters and also a core member of The Small Print, an independent project with creativity at its core. Developed to promote great creativity in its many guises. He is also a regular contributor to design and illustration blogs Scamp and Always Read The Small Print and as well as a leading member of Illustrators Ireland. danleo
Born in London, Danleo moved to Ireland in his youth and later studied animation and graphic design at I.A.D.T. Dublin. After leaving college he began to lean towards creating dynamic stills on canvas and walls, and has spent the last few years building up an impressive portfolio with a wide array of work from illustrations to graffiti based pieces. Not content with sticking to one medium, Danleo constantly looks for more challenging ways to express his work and to inspire those who get a kick out of his weird creations. Over the last few years he has been commissioned to create numerous works for clients and has painted large wall pieces for various bars & clubs including The South William, Twisted Pepper, and The Bernard Shaw in Dublin.
