Icarus Rising (West Knyle and Mexy) – Unstoppable
Icarus Rising” consists of Detroit MC “West Knyle” and Irish MC/Producer “CmX aka Mexy” The duo met while performing at Dublin’s Infamous “Lyricist’s Lounge” and quickly put their combined talents to work on a collaboration which lead directly to the inception of Icarus Rising. Their 7 track EP “Lucky Se7en” is bound to send shockwaves through the Hip Hop community when released in Spring 2012. A taster of their material is included on Mexy’s Solo Album “Split Mode Vol. 1” due for release in March 2012. “Unstoppable” deals with their constant drive and persistence in a genre flooded with sub-standard poor quality music, while keeping the rawness and rough edges associated with old school Hip Hop. Old school but original rhyme schemes and flow are put to work on a MPC-esque CmX beat with both MCs tearing the beat to bits.
