DCTV Update: Cold Weather – The Ex & Brass Unbound, Kamerakazi TV & Layoffs

There are a couple of interesting things on the January DCTV schedule, including screenings of Daragh McCarthy’s Cold Weather, a concert film of The Ex & Brass Unbound.

KameraKazi TV is an online television station streaming creative programming free of charge. The station was set up as a D.I.Y. response to the homogenous programming of Ireland’s national media. We, the KameraKazi TV team, produce the content that we ourselves wish to see, covering contemporary subcultural topics that are overlooked by mainstream media. As we distribute the content ourselves, KameraKazi TV is completely autonomous and free of censorship.

Mondays at 10:30pm, Tuesdays at 6:30pm, Wednesdays at 10:30pm, Fridays at 1am and Saturdays at 6:30pm

In February 2010 Brass Unbound–which includes jazz heavy weights Mats Gustafsson, Ken Vandermark, Roy Paci and Wolter Wierbos–joined legendary Dutch experimental punks The Ex for a high octane European tour which culminated in an intense sellout show in Dublin. This film takes the viewer, and the listener, through every horn riff and guitar lick of their one-time collaboration.

Mondays at 2pm, Tuesdays at 11pm and Wednesdays at 2pm.

In less positive news, DCTV have been forced to lay off a number of their full time staff due to a lack of funding. Sad news.
