Kristin Hersh has announced a November Irish tour

This solo tour is in support of “Wyatt At The Coyote Palace”, her new double CD & book. Expect readings from the book mixed in with songs chosen from her back catalogue.

From life as the reluctant front person for 4AD’s Throwing Muses through the 80s and 90s, to the solo career that began with 1994s “Hips and Makers”, to her power trio 50FootWave and now her new career as an author of memoirs “Paradoxical Undressing” and “Don’t Suck, Don’t Die”, Kristin never stops creating. “Wyatt” is the third release in the groundbreaking book/CD format that Kristin began with her most recent solo album “Crooked” and the Throwing Muses 2013 release “Purgatory/Paradise”.

Known for her confessional songwriting style in her solo work and with her bands, and with early influnces from Stevie Wonder, Talking Heads, The Clash, The Beatles and traditional music, her style ranges from jaggedly dissonant to traditional folk.

Hersh’s lyrics have reflected on her personal experiences with mental illness, motherhood, and childhood and she is among the few female rock music artists pushing against gender role boundaries.
