Your work situation (4 Viewers)

I don’t remember the details but it’s worth asking your salaries persons for a worked example for 3 & 4 day work weeks.

Depends on what you earn and the details of your shorter week. If you aren't paying a lot at the higher rate of tax you might not be far off 20%. Also in some situations you will be put on a Week 1 basis which I think would nullify any potential tax savings that way.

How are social welfare finding out about these people? Do they have spies at the airport?

Like this sounds a bit vague:
Their duties include conducting interviews with customers by trained investigators, auditing employers’ PRSI records, carrying out specialist investigations and joint enquiries and operations with other agencies such as Revenue and the gardai. They also include multi-agency checkpoints and checks at airports.
There surely aren't randomers with clipboards after passport control asking are you on the scratcher and people are just telling them?

I was going to ask if I could start back in the office 3 days a week as I’m not cut out for working from home and there’s very few people in there.
That was until we all got an email saying someone had crapped all over the bathroom floor and walls and that it was unacceptable behaviour.
Might leave it a few weeks and let the place air out a bit.

Easy enough to do with people at the airport, surely - scan your passport, search the social welfare database. Could automate it without much trouble either
In theory yes but I'd be surprised if Customs/Passport control system communicates that readily with social welfare. I'm not sure if it would even be allowed to. Perhaps it is.

We started week 21 of working from home (my 23rd week out of the office). Only 4 individuals allowed to enter the office, and only three of them at any given time. The rest of us will be working at home until September at least, and damn straight we will be claiming tax back on additional expenses (not a new provision by the way) for working from home.

I heard some lady from ICTU on the radio this morning saying that if you're claiming this WFH tax allowance yourself then you will need receipts/evidence, if you're employer does it you don't need to worry about that. My employer hasn't said anything about it yet, as far as I recall. I can't see a return to the office happening before christmas (that's as far as I can think)
