I would like to hear more about this if it's not too personal
I had been cycling along a narrow country road in meath that I cycled 100's of time. A jeep had passed me then slowed down and I was behind it, then it had sped up on a downhill section. All of a sudden I had a cow in front me running on the road I couldn't react in time, my frontwheel hit the back legs of the cow (or an older calf) and I came crashing down off the bike, hitting the road.

A person stopped and brought me yo the hospital.

I fractured my cheek bone, broke my nose (scars on my nose and cheek where it had to be stitched) , lacerations and cuts on my philtrum that had to be stitched up, lips had to get some stitches too, Injured my knee (still hurts sometimes where it had been cut)

When I was recovering I had phoned my dentist to make appointment to be checked out.
Me: I have a checkup in 4 weeks but I need to move it forward as I have some pain and damage to my teeth
Receptionist: no, definitely not. We can't make you an earlier appointment.
Me: really? I am really having problems eating, speaking because of the damage that was when I hit a cow, and [list of injuries]
Receptionist: oh, we have a free appointment this Friday.

The dentist took the top half of the tooth cracked in half by the crash out at the appointment, he filled one of the front teeth also damaged (which lost its enamel) and referred me to a specialist for a dental implant too. I had the root removed and then 6 months later, I had the implant fitted

As well as the knee, the lips, philtrum and teeth area is sore at times (and I am never quite sure which). There is also some affect on my breathing at times at the top of the nose where it was broken.

But thankfully, the cow was OK and ran off.

I kept having to ring the garda (singular) in the area to try to get him to follow it up.
The day I had the tooth's root removed, the garda rang to say he followed it up and asked all the 3 farmers if it was their cow that had caused an accident 5 weeks earlier but none said they did.
I was not surpised

Oh man.

Did you get the contact info of the person that brought you into Casualty? I was hit by a car in Bray and a biker pulled up and made sure I was alright. It's a good feeling afterwards; humanity exists, people are usually sound, but at the time it's just embarrassed pain, and confusion.

They can do a surgery on your sinus / skull kind of to fix your breathing if it stays being an issue. I had my nose monumentally smashed 3 times, and they fixed up the internals for me (I wasn't as concerned about the aesthetics).

The knee one would be the one that could linger. You can damage cartilage, and it can make the joint dodgy. Even cartilage can be repaired to some extent though, my mate messed up a knee in a crash and made a really good recovery, plus he found some drug? supplement? that he swore helped with cartilage. If your knee doesn't get better I can ask him what he did. For now I'd try to keep range of movement, maybe try swimming.

Yes I did get the contact details, she was an aunt of someone I work with, so I got her full details from the colleague

I find they really both are things that come and go, so most of the time I feel OK.
They are more niggly pains than anything else but I'll keep in mind for future.

Coming back from a walk this morning was first time in a wee bit that I felt the knee pain

I would love a beer. Are you allowed booze when wearing a Blood Pressure monitor or will that skew the results?

Blood test results delayed due to the hacking thing, but blood pressure turns out to be normal. Surprised but happy with that.

New glasses this morning. I hadn't realised how much my eyesight had deteriorated. WIth these super-duper lenses, I can see the fabric of space and time itself.

I went to the GP this morning, second visit to this particular guy. He said he only got a computer last year for some covid-related reason but he was able to call up his record of my last visit from a stash of paper in a wardrobe.

looks like your health is potentially someone else's wealth now.

The doc texted to say my blood test results returned normal and blood pressure and cholesterol are fine. Great news, but why do I still feel like shit?

Come to think of it, I was riding high in April and felt a little shot down in May

I can't quite tell if I have a cold right now or it's just hay fever. I usually get a weeks worth or so of hay fever around this time of year, but I think I've actually got a slight cold right now and all, as I've got a bit of a temperature and that. COVIDDDDD
