pitty the Glass Candy one was scrapped. they started from scratch again.

old music wise that its been all about the Anatolian shizz for the last year or so.
particulary this track
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGDmOb1E47s"]YouTube - BARIŞ MANÇO - Hal Hal[/ame]

For me it is all about:

Cloudland Canyon - Silver Tongued Sisyphus
Panda Bear - Perfect Pitch
A Place To Bury Strangers - A Place To Bury Strangers
Stars of the Lid - And Their Refinement of the Decline

I can't think of anything else.

I just can't get enough of any of that 'Italians Do It Better' stuff at the moment. Narcotic disco goodness.

Glass Candy - Candy Castle is one of my favourite songs of the year. Not 100% convinced the whole neo-italo thing is better than the old-italo music it borrows from but it's definitely fun to listen to. In a kind of similar vein to Italians Do It Better is the Valerie label/collective from France - not sure they've released much but they have a blog and a MySpace.

yeah deadly tune, Miss Broadway 12" is also a killer. I love the Professor Genius track Hot Dice.
yeah its really fun, but sure who hasn't borrowed from it before, like Viewlexx and Creme Orginisation right down to Detroit stuff, as you said its all in good fun though. i do think that the Cromatics/Glass Candy brigade are pushing it in a different direction, and do owe a bit to the New York school, as in a glamour/glitter disco and No Wave kind of way, both bands where originally very very no waveish and i also guess GC's recent brilliant cover of Dark Days. Yeah love the old stuff love the new stuff, its all good.

I can't stand that Weird Fishes song off the Radiohead album, especially the bit where he actually sings "Weird Fishes". I think it's the worst moment in music in 2007.
