Radiohead - In Rainbows
M.I.A. - Kala
The Field - From Here We Go Sublime

Haven't listened to much new music this year though :-(

Suprised this didn't get a mention in the first two pages I read:

Person Pitch - Panda Bear, probably my favourite of the year.

The Herring and the Brine - Mumblin' Deaf Ro

Strawberry Jam - Animal Collective

Rise Above - Dirty Projectors

Sky Blue Sky - Wilco

Oh and does New Moon by Elliott Smith count? Its obviously stacked full of ridiculously good songs but I'd heard nearly all of them a long time before so I never really think of it as an album. Anyway

Looking Over My Shoulder and New Monkey are some of the best tracks released this year in an official capacity.

edit: why am I asking if something "counts" on this thread?!?

Depends how you look at it. I think it came out on a Japanese label last year but got the international release through Drag City this year. Let's call it this year then. It's deadly.

I was a bit disappointed by this, I expected to really love it but it didn't grab me. Maybe I should dig it out again...

Aye, I got it last year when I was a-living in Kyoto. I think it's deadly too. Seemed pretty immediate stuff. Still think you should give it another go quasiquasi.

i'm very slow on the uptake with music, according to my itunes I only have four albums that came out in 2007. they're all good though, except the neurosis is a bit meh by their standards:

rwake - voices of omens
neurosis - given to the rising
delorentos - in love with detail
m.i.a. - kala

do you not find it a bit underwhelming? i've not really got into anything they've released since A Sun That Never Sets. if anyone else had released it I'd probably think it was great but I compare everything they do to Enemy of the Sun, Souls at Zero and A Sun That Never Sets and things tend to come off a bit meh by comparison.

Hmm. I actually really liked it, though it wouldn't be their best definitely.
Interesting that you named Sun That Never Sets there, a lot of people I know aren't that into that one. It's one of my favourites though.
I'd say Times Of Grace is my #1...
