This should probably be a poll but i don't really know how. My favorite never changes but the others would depend on my mood (but would still be among my favorite movies ever). Today...

1. The Shining
2. 2001: A Space Odyssey
3. Dr Strangelove
4. A Clockwork Orange
5. Paths Of Glory
6. Full Metal Jacket
7. Eyes Wide Shut
8. Lolita
9. Spartacus
10. Barry Lyndon

Never seen the earlier ones nor have i seen the full US version of The Shining. Has anyone seen it?

I've never seen 2001, Barry Lyndon or Lolita.

I really like Paths of Glory, Dr. Strangelove and Spartacus.
Them the mostest.

The other ones are all pretty ace too, though. Except for Eyes Wide Shut, which isn't.

'2001: A Space Odyssey' in a photo-finish with 'Barry Lyndon' .

He really did treat objects like women.

The Killing is totally brilliant and Killer's Kiss is fairly decent.

My number one is The Shining, closely followed by Dr Strangelove.

A Clockwork Orange probably the most over-rated.

A Clockwork Orange for me. It's such a unique film. There's nothing else quiet like it.

Paths of glory is also really good.

it's on the region 1 DVD. not fully absorbed it yet.

01 A Clockwork Orange
02 The Shining
03 Barry Lyndon
04 The Killing
05 2001: A Space Odyssey
06 Paths Of Glory
07 Dr Strangelove
08 Full Metal Jacket
09 Eyes Wide Shut
10 Lolita
11 Spartacus
12 Killer's Kiss

That's madness! I think that film is amazing.

1. Shining
2. 2001
3. Clockwork Orange
4. Barry Lyndon
5. Dr Strangelove

The only one I don't really ever watch is Full Metal Jacket, it's still amazing but just too much for me these days....

Oh and Spartacus has been ruined by a thousand Religion teachers forcing us to watch it in school so they wouldn't have to teach us.

1. The Shining
2. A Clockwork Orange
3. 2001
4. Dr Strangelove
5. Spartacus
6. FMJ
7. Lolita
8. Barry Lyndon

Haven't seen the others. Barry Lyndon looks absolutely beautiful but is rather boring IMHO. Oh and I turned Eyes Wide Shut off half way through.

switch strangelove with the shining and that list is pretty much spot on. i liked eyes wide shut.

Full Metal Jacket - amazing amazing amazing take on a genre film. I love the way Kubrick took a simple war story and turned it into his own take on the man = machine yokeymajig. I read recently about loads of subconscious visual stuff going on that blew my mind.

Dr Strangelove - best satirical film ever, proper black humour

2001 A Space Oddessy. It would have been perfect only for that bullshite at the end - though very watchable bullshite
