You know you're getting old.... (4 Viewers)

I hear stuff I've never heard before every day.

But then, maybe I wasn't absorbing music at the rate you were when I was young.

Same. I listen to new-to-me stuff all the time. When I was young I'd get an album and play LOADS AND LOADS OF TIMES over months.

There isn't the hours in the day to listen to all the music I listen to now as much as that.

But then I could probably sing along with every song on Iron Fist today while I don't even know WHO I was listening to yesterday.

I 'm the same. I spend so much time buying old records from before my time. I generally don't buy much new stuff.
Wasn't easy back then to hear Turkish psych, 60's and 70's electronics, Colombian 80's Ultra metal, throat singing, or even old rock bands or Jazz
If I was young now I doubt I would ever have specialised in any particular genre.

Maybe too much lockdown wine?

I certainly can't go anywhere near a blue cheese, and I think I'm slightly younger than you. Only slightly.

this is the last song on the Cats and Dogs LP (1993) this line was great
cats and dogs is the best thing they did - excellent record imo. this one is decent too. i really don't like any of their other stuff at all. one band that really needed the drugs - once they cleaned up their acts the music went down the toilet. or at least that's how i understand it

Half-watching the recent soccerball, I just had a thought that "This must be how my mum and all my aunties and my granny felt watching this". I'm not that into it but I know it's important so here I am watching it. Those relatives have always been old to me, and now I also have the feeling, watching this, that I just want to get up and make tea for everyone.

I didnt know they were old people music! Super band

I was kind of preempting the, "they're dull, bland, indie yacht rock hipsters" comeback.
Which is not with merit, but I still like em.
Especially the dub remixes of hasta el cielo. Gets mixed reviews, but I love spaced out dub reggae.

I don't remember this from the time but it was mentioned on one of those 2000's nostalgia programmes (e.g. I Love 1980 or something like that) they showed clips from the first series that Moira Stewart presented..
speaking of her she's hardly aged in decades.
