The A-side of British rock band Icarus's debut single "The Devil Rides Out" was inspired by the advance publicity for the film of the same name. Though the song does not appear in the film, the single's release was timed to coincide with the film's premiere and the band was invited to the premiere.[7]

I think the line up is Jojo (guitar), Mayuko Hino (theremin and vocals. she was formerly a well known former porn actor), Hiroshi Hasegawa (then Mayuko's husband on electronics). I don't know who the woman on lead vocals is.
the 2nd tune @ 14:18 has lots of audience participation.
John Kelly and Other Voices are trying to book them as we speak

yo dude, that is Junko [Hiroshige]. She is the face and the voice of Hijokaidan surely? Junko, she had an album with that French musique concrete bloke Thomas Tilley recently.

I saw her do an acapella show once, and usually I can withstand any old nonsense, but it was like someone scraping fingernails on a board, or popping the same bit of bubblegum for twenty minutes. Went out for a smoke shaking my head. Loads of Japanese lads were laughing at me.

I can't recognise Hiroshi Hasegawa from that footage... he looks about a hundred years old these days ... :O

He plays occasionally in a band called Nord who are a worthwhile concern.

I was listening to this and realised that apart from being an achingly pretty song, that intro... like, does John Frusciante cite Beefheart as an influence? The whole song set up sounds like something the Chili Peppers listened to and copied.

Lucifer.
I like what I'm hearing and like their vibe. Not love, just better that most.

Need @therealjohnny 's opinion before I can commit.
I feel the same. I like them but wish they were better

The songs are pretty forgettable

I first came across the singer when she was in The Oath

It's grand, and I'm glad there are bands doing this, but it's not going to change my life
