Wow, I have just discovered... (1 Viewer)

Stumbled across this earlier today and greatly enjoyed it, I'd never heard of them before. "

"Defunct crust-punk band from Memphis, Tennessee." Says Discogs. Looks like they were fairly short-lived.

COP OUT was another band with HHIG members.
in 1993 it was very unusual for bands to play 1980's type hardcore.
(only then new bands like OUT COLD and LOS CRUDOS, HUASIPUNGO
etc. others from US Latino HC punk scene come to mind)
but 1980's style HC punk has ruled the roost in underground punk
scene in the 2000's.
never actually heard COP OUT at the time.
and didn't listen to CRUDOS much at time either (stoopid me).

only came across GUTTERSNIPE from Leeds a few weeks ago:

their LP came out in 2018.
that's what i get for not keeping up with new bands.
i love noisecore / noise-grind and i get the same buzz from this
even though it's coming from a different angle.
really compelling and very noisy with No Wave + some modern
HC influences etc.
great to hear something so original - which is rare.
listening to new things and finding little that excites me
is discouraging.
since being a teen i've always tended to look backwards.

I've never listened to Harry Nilsson before in my life but I just read about this on twitter

The album is deadly

The Point! is a fable that tells the story of a boy named Oblio, the only round-headed person in the Pointed Village, where by law everyone and everything must have a point. Nilsson explained his inspiration for The Point!: "I was on acid and I looked at the trees and I realized that they all came to points, and the little branches came to points, and the houses came to point. I thought, 'Oh! Everything has a point, and if it doesn't, then there's no point to it.'

Cindy Lee

is former Women guitarist/vocalist Pat Flegel.

only halfway through the first listen of latest release What's Tonight To Eternity but can see myself listening plenty times more. Loved those 2 Women albums. Can definitely hear bits of them in the guitar. Kind of tunes that wouldn't be out of place in a David Lynch movie. Really interesting. worth checking out

The album is deadly

I don't know The Point, but I have a couple of Nilsson albums; he was a great songwriter and an amazing singer.

reading the liner notes of Can's Tago Mago, a reissue from about 5 years ago.

Liam Gallagher jammed with Jaki Liebezeit and Michael Karoli one night in the late 90s in some studio for hours
(apparently he was only playing keyboard with one finger but still)

For a minute I thought this was ripping off the theme music from some Irish talk show, then I realised that the talk show uses this music. Is it Pat Kenny? Or something on TV3?
