Wow, I have just discovered... (4 Viewers)

watched a french movie from the early 80s called Full Moon In Paris this week. Great movie. Was shazamming the tunes featured as I watched. Featured a french duo called Elli and Jacno. Absolutely brilliant pop tunes with a nice bit of synth/guitar action. (Sadly the lead in the movie, Pascale Ogier, died of a drug induced heart attack within a year of movie being made. Had gotten some big European accolades for her performance in the movie).

Jacno did the song Rectangle which was the basis for a massive hit by Gigi D'Agostino about 20 years ago.

not new to me but -
Elli and Jacno were both in the STINKY TOYS one of France's best known early punk bands.
Elli was born in Uruguay and Jacno is no longer alive.

that reminds me - I was watching an Under 15 hurling match last week and a fight broke out. I found out yesterday that the kid on our local team whose dad is Chinese was being called racist names the whole game and by the middle of the second half had had enough.
the racist kid's father was told but accepted his son's version that he hadn't said anything.
being tarred as a racist will stay with the kid long after he realises what he said.

Passed me by at the time. At a certain age, I would have been all over these guys

Einzersteiden Neuzblaten

A song came up on Spotify after an early Tindersticks album I was listening to, finished.

I'd been meaning to check them out for a few years but given I have zero capacity to actually remember what their actual name is, I've been unable to locate anything by them on any streaming service I use.

Now that I have accidentally stumbled on them, I have 20 albums to get through in order to decide if I want to become a super-fan and to go see them in the NCH next year.

I still haven't heard a note by them.
I always assumed it was avant garde industrial type stuff

I might get around to looking them up on YouTube one of these days
