Post here if you stumble upon some old record or band that you were heretofore unaware of. Or if you thought it was shite but like it/them now. Thoughtful, informative posts rather than lists, please. I'll go first.

A.R. Kane - 69
Never heard of these until the other day, it's kinda 80s guitar murk - loads of reverb, lots of noise guitar feedback, barely audible drums, soft melodic singing. A bike a cross between Cocteau Twins and My Bloody Valentine. I have no interest in either of those bands so I'm surprised I like this but it's very good.

Stumbles on this a while ago the Plasmatics butcher baby i think Wendy O Williams is more interesting as a personality than for her music though, Probably belongs in the "Girls with Guitars/Mandolines" thread,

I was really late getting into the Plasmatics. Only have/know a couple of things even now but Butcher Baby is a great tune.

Ever hear this?

...that some girls are bigger than others (and some girls' mothers are bigger than other girls' mothers)?

I heard 2 scott walker songs on Tom Dunne's show last night. Normally I don't like that over the top, melodramatic type of thing, but i liked it. I think I'm ready for it. Must be a sign of maturity.

Old or new Scott Walker? I'm guessing old. The four solo albums Scott 1, Scott 2, Scott 3 and Scott 4 are all excellent. Think Scott 4 is my favourite out of that era. Out of the last four (which are radically different from the early stuff), The Drift is probably my favourite but it's too close to call. All of them are brilliant in their own way. Not an easy listen by any means but worth the effort.
