Makes no sense to me. If you didn’t get it in two you would have got it in three.
Because it could be SCARE, SNARE, STARE, SHARE, SPARE.......
And you end up just hate-typing in these words hoping you get lucky, and I hate it
So what was a hopeful 2 becomes an angry unsatisfied 5
I like 3s...... it's a magic number

I get that if that was was the missing letter but if wasn't in this case, right? It wasn't that blatant.
 
It stops you from playing the probabilities. Say you pick two completely different starter words, each containing 5 of the most common letters. In two goes you’re in a pretty good position to make a guess in your third go.

You can’t do that in Hard Mode.
The system waits til the third go to play probabilities
First and second are to set the table

It's not for everyone

It was exactly my choice in that situation
One missing letter with 5 or 6 possible solutions

yep, and then you wonder should you try something like 'chant' to test four of the five possible letters - but i assume hard mode disallows that?
