Just as a matter of interest, do other male Thumpeders buy clothes for their wives/girlfriends? Personally it's not something I would feel competent about.

As a rule - never. But fuck it. I need a bit of adventure

I think it's really sweet, but yes often goes wrong. Second the gift receipt and not being offended if she exchanges but think it shows a lot of thought went into it. Especially if you've thought about what features she likes on herself/dresses to accentuate.

My SO bought me a dress I'd spent years wanting and mentioned probably in passing ages ago, after I had the baba and I thought it was a really lovely gift because it's nice to be listened to and also because it was way beyond my price range and I'd never have bought it otherwise
