My Creative software won't run offa Windows Vista. This is a drag. Anything I can do?

Have you tried the compatability thing in Vista? Set the creative software to run under XP compatibility.

I'm sick of the proprietary creative software. People swear by third party software called Notmad Explorer. It ain't free though.

It sorted out the VLC player which was actually the more pressing of the two problems. Joy!

Re: Creative. The hardware properties don't have a compatibility option and it won't let me install the software.

Right click on the *.exe that launches the installation on the cd then go to the compatibility tab etc.

the file should be called setup.exe or whatever.

If that doesn't work you might be at a dead end until microsoft or creative release an update.

could be but you should check the creative froums. i had the exact same problem with a zen xtra and got it sorted out by upgrading the firmware.
