On my home version of Windows 10 (Home) the option "open file location" isn't available.

How do I restore it? I see some discussion about it on the internet but I can't figure it out.

This feature is available on my office PC (Windows 10 Pro)

Is it just unavailable because it's a "Home" version?

do you mean like within application file open dialog boxes? or from windows explorer recent file jump lists?
