anecdotally i've heard of young chinese people hiring out function rooms for the night....according to my missus who went to a talk by an asian artist talking about living in dublin.

Clearly the Parnell St and Capel St restaurants are a draw.
The Polish bar that was on Parnell St seems to be under Chinese ownership now, but I don't think they're serious drinkers in the way we are.

I was in my local chinese take-away and I just wondered on my way home. I'll ask them next time I'm in. Planning to go to China next year, probably easier to figure out where they socialise there.
