Any love out there for Morphine? Re-connecting with Cure for Pain - so reminiscent of the 90s, yet timeless cos still no-one has ever sounded like Morphine. And the bass sound, oooomph!

Yeah I like Morphine, need to listen to them a bit more though. Morphine and the Presidents of the USA, kings of the Basitar and the Guitbass.

Friday night beers records.

Glimmermen - Here I Stand. Album of 2019.
Waxahatchee - Saint Cloud. Album of 2020.

These are both silky smooth.

Giving the 'new' Wilco another go with a friday buzz. I had no time for it to begin with. Still not doing a lot, s'okay.

Pretenders-pretenders lp
Pretenders-hate for sale lp
Kiss-dressed to kill lp
Dumpy's Rusty Nuts-somewhere in england 2xlp
Squeeze-packet of 3 12"
Spermbirds-go to hell then turn left lp

Plastic dance volume 1 LP
I always like Andy Votel's tongue twister liner notes.
"Plastic Dance presents ten unacquainted and elusive slices of synthetic squat pop, angular funk, teapot kosmische and fraudulent disco from self-propelled imprints and global co-ops."

Daptone gold volume II 2LP
Datone records really nail the classic mid 60's - early 70s soul sound. You forget you're listening to new recordings.

Listened to the new Taylor Swift album. Insipid baby music, fucking hell, how anyone can like this I have no idea . This is straight-up generation gap stuff and I'm on the wrong side and happy about it. Now washing out my ears with Roxy Music like the old man I am.

Listened to Christopher Cross yesterday because I needed to sanitise my soul.

Then I listened to some of Micheal McDonald's solo stuff and its godawful.

After that it was Neneh Cherry's 'Raw Like Sushi', which I never heard before and I was kind of expecting more from.

so yeah, not great overall.
