Virgin Suicides is a cool listen I went back to during the year. Really great. Don't think I appreciated how good it was back in 2000 or whenever it was

Yeah it's good. Especially the instrumental version of playground love.
I love shimmery, dreamy sounds like vibraphone, fender Rhodes piano, tremolo effects....ect

Another over exposed album I haven't listened to in a long time was Goldfrapp - Felt Mountain.
Played it t today. It's a really lush, accomplished piece of work.

Moby's Play probably needs another five years before I can listen to it again.

Back to this album after over listening to it a few months ago. Mentioned in another thread at the time. Former Women singer/guitarist under the name Cindy Lee. Brilliant album

My brothers and I are sharing what we've been listening to. One of them said Black Pumas. Never heard of them, playing their album now. Retro sounding funky stuff. It's hitting the spot this morning.

which lead me to an album by Rico Lee & The Black Pumas. Great stuff, massive Neil Young influence. Sounds totally live. 30 minute album, recommend.

a live version of this song came up on a few hardcore comp. tapes over the years
these Italian guys later went down the well trodden Husker Du route but they
were great early on. this is a blinding song.

KINA - Nessuno Schema (1984)

Tod Dockstader (1932 - 2015) was an American electronic composer.
everything i've heard by him is amazing. but my favourite is Second Song
the final part of Quatermass (1964) a five part, 45 minute piece.

for the record Dockstader said in the liner notes:
"The title was chosen because the word sounded right for the work.
It happened to be the name of Professor Bernard Quatermass,
star character of a 1950' BBC-TV science fiction serials and two
B films... at the time, I hadn't seen them."

Interlude:
Nuke then heads off to you tube to find the music to post here
(should have done that first) and... WTF?
'Quatermass' isn't there !

OK instead, here's an excerpt of another awesome electro acoustic work of his...

Tod Dockstader - Apocalypse (Part 2). excerpt (1961)

Missed the timstwitterlisteningparty, but listened to the Gomez debut, and it is brilliant. no harm in being middle classed university students. going by the twitter thread they made the most of this on a shitty 4 track, which seems insane.

that little break at 3:10 in free to run = ok emoji. i love it.

great times 1998.
