What television series are you currently making your way through? (6 Viewers)

I'm very much on the side of awful but still watching. The last episode was a lot better in that it toned down the hysterical pace of it all but in general while watching it (a) I have little idea wtf is going on and (b) I don't really care.
The metamorphosis effects were great.

Big time. Just finished the first episode a while ago too, blatant wicker man plot usage to a large extent so far but feels promising with regards to how it could play out.
Finished the third episode. I liked it. Occasional lapses into silliness and I don’t think the history of the island was explored very well but it looks fantastic and the acid trip was very well done. I’m interested to see what they do with this live extravaganza

Anyone watching the Third Day livestream thing? I think I’ll catch up with it during the week...
i had it on in the background this morning without knowing what the hell it was. Only realised at around 6 o clock this evening the live episode was happening today. Didn't realsise it was going to be in this type of format. I still haven't watched episode 2. might catch up tonight.

surely must be a couple of plot nuggets slotted into the marathon live show today.

Leeds 1-1 Man City.

the gurus of attacking football Bielsa and Guardiola went head to head
in wet Yorkshire.
Leeds just lure teams into playing the way they do and there was 20 minutes
in the second half were the only tactic was bomb forward in numbers when
you got possession.
eventually Guardiola backed down a bit in the face of his mentors team's
onslaught and bought on Fernandinho (defensive midfielder).
what a pity there was only a few hundred insiders there.
I've been watching Bielsa's teams since 1991, so it's great to see this every week.

plus Liege-Bastogne-Liege (probably my favourite bike) race is tomorrow and
Giro d'Italia started today.

Finished series 2 of After Life. I know we’re not supposed to like Gervais but it’s really very good.

some crazy stuff happening in an unforgettable day:

Man Utd 1-6 Spurs
Aston Villa 7-2 Liverpool

Liege- Bastogne-Liege

Jurgen, Joe Gomez and company will have nightmares about Ollie Watkins
at Villa Park for a long time...
Ed Woodward and the Glazer's are still running Man Utd into the ground.
the last Km of the men's Liege race was crazy although the lad who finished
second* was hard done by.

seeing as I think everyone has had a chance to see L-B-L now,
I meant Hirschi should have won.
before he crossed the line I knew Alaphilippe was going to get DQed.
also if Alaphilippe hadn't gone all over the place in the sprint I'd
say Roglic would have only been fourth.

the main thing sticking in my head from the Villa 7-2 Liverpool
game is when the Reds were getting everything wrong there was no
leadership to fix it.
they kept keeping a high line, pushing fullbacks forward, the midfield
wasn't pressing, Klopp didn't take Gomez off at half time...

Villa were awesome . they totally did a job on Klopp.

there have been so many great matches so far. it's a huge pity fans aren't there.
maybe that has something to do with it ?

even Bayern got hammered by Hoffenheim recently.
yesterday they won 4-3 against Hertha. Lewandowski got the winner in injury
time - his fourth of the game.

Just saw short highlights of LBL there, LOL at Alaphilippe getting stroked on the line, but fuck he ruined it for the other 3 lads alright

Fuck Leeds, and fuck fucking Guardiola and Man City. Revive the No Referee thread if you dare.

How could anyone possibly hate Leeds United??

Great to have them back.

That Villa game was whopping - especially as I am (primarily) a Villa fan [I've become quite partial to West Ham since the post-lockdown reboot. Antonio, Cresswell and all the boys]. I was laughing my hole off watching it - Villa could have gotten ten goals.

And that shot on MOTD when they showed 'Man Utd 1 Tottenham 6' with that gentle little smirk on Jose's face like a satisfied child looking all tucked in after a nice feed. Delicious TV.

Right, football lured me in here. I just finished season 6 of Mad Men. 4 and 6 are the best seasons. It was a trial getting through season 2 and 3 - really glorified soap opera shit playing at 60s Euro arthouse. 4 was great because it turned the lead character's narrative on its head and made it almost a delightfully painful farce. His second wife is unbearable - I can't tell whether it's the character or the actor, but she has a rotten presence - made a lot of 5 excruciating despite interesting smaller stuff happening all the time. Not so much for in season 6, thank Christ. Jesus.
