What television series are you currently making your way through? (5 Viewers)

I've watched all of it now (and there's a lot) and I really liked it. Takes a while to get going but the characters become really endearing after a while. I've completely forgotten about the "buying the town" part ....

I should have started it earlier as I pretty much always like Eugene Levy and Catherine O'Hara.

Watched a couple of episode of Schitt's Creek over the weekend. Thought it was quite good.

How can someone buy an entire town?
I really liked it up to a point. The son's "serious" relationship put a damper on things and everything started to feel a bit repetitive. Might come back to it though. The mother is fantastic.

ITV 4 are showing repeats of Dempsey & Makepeace.
It's not a patch on minder but....

Great hairstyle for winter. Keep the ears warm.

I had a Slovakian workmate who once put on a pair of Aviators and said "Who do I look like?" Nobody knew. He said "In school everyone called me Dempsey".
a general "huh?" ensued.
"You know, Dempsey and Makepeace!". He did look a bit like Dempsey.

Between himself and me and the four English dudes in the group, we were the only two who had ever even heard of the show. Much explaining of an English tv show to English people followed. We were utterly flummoxed. The English lads thought we were making it up.

Really enjoyed the show as a kid. I rewatched it 10 years ago or so, it was still cool.

Once upon a time in Iraq. Part two was on last night.
America will never recover from what it did there. Never.
There's a good podcast from this year called Blowback, about America and the Iraq war, if you want to listen to a slightly light-hearted slash very angry history. It was a premium thing on Stitcher but it's coming out on standard podcast platforms now, I think they're about halfway through. I'll have to watch the above show.

and yeah, if I had any doubts all these years later I very much came to the same conclusion pretty quickly.

I've watched one episode. Is it good? Is the confusion because of the Germanish of it? If so, I think we could handle that. But I don't want to invest in a show if it turns out to be rubbish.

I'm still watching DS9. At this moment, Odo has walked into Ops and everyone knows he's lost his virginity. Hilarious in many ways, but you have to get through many hours to find it so.

the end of the English soccer season.
amazing night last Wednesday.

e.g.
one win in their last two matches would have gotten Brentford promoted
to top flight for first time since 1940's
BUT they contrived to lose 3-2 at home to Barnsley on the last day which
saved Barnsley who had been in the bottom three since last August.

sadly though this was at the expense of Sligo Rovers legend Paul Cook.
his Wigan side finished 10 point clear of the bottom three but a 12 point
deduction after their new owners had put the Wigan into adminstration
only weeks after buying the club meant relegation.
how are conmen like this allowed to operate ?

anyway... last day of PL today should be good.
