iMax in Cineworld or Omni Rathmines. I think Omni one has slightly better sound that Cineworld. On the other hand, in this context, better pretty much means loudI wonder which Dublin cinema has the best sound?
Don't really know what was going on here exactly but it stressed me out no end and then went off the rails a bit towards the end.A young woman left her family for an unspecified reason. The husband determines to find out the truth and starts following his wife. At first, he suspects that a man is involved. But gradually, he finds out more and more strange behaviors and bizarre incidents that indicate something more than a possessed love affair.
Decent old-school horrorA vengeful witch and her fiendish servant return from the grave and begin a bloody campaign to possess the body of the witch’s beautiful look-alike descendant. Only the girl’s brother and a handsome doctor stand in her way.
just looked at the trailer. it's far out, manThe final programme (1973)
An absurd, quirky, far out maaan, futuristic "romp" based on a book by Michael Moorcock (great porn name) It's very of it's time. What's it about? I still wasn't sure three quarters of the way into it. Jerry Cornelius is a dandy, Jim Morrison look a like who's scientist father has just died. He is approached by this group of oddballs who want to get their hands on microfilm belonging to his father to complete his work and create a more advanced human being. The final programme. It's very much a cult film. Some cool psychedelic visual sequences but it doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Some of the comedic elements don't do it any favours. It veers into Austin Powers territory. It's ridiculous, but kind of fun. Might watch it again sometime.
Just went to see this in Cineworld there now. There was only about 10 people there but some of them were eating popcorn, the scumbags. The stench and the mouth noises almost drove me out. The film was ok, good idea, poorly executed.Vengeance. BJ Novak is a writer who wants to be a podcaster, and gets a call from Texas that his girlfriend is dead (he only hooked up with her a couple of times) and the family want him to go to the funeral.
It's a fuckin brilliant film, really great commentary on contemporary American society, and it's quite funny at times, great stuff.
