What movie did you watch last night? (12 Viewers)

Ha! Did you notice the framed picture of the magazine article on the two of them that was hanging in the hallway? Article was called Scenes From A Marriage. Sly (maybe not so sly) Bergman reference from Baumbauch and possibly what put it in your head.

Avengers: Endgame - bloated sludge. It was like the most expensive toy catalogue ever made.

City of God - held up in quality, still very funny

The Revenant - that bear scene was a huge misstep but otherwise interesting, some lovely cinematography.

The Patriot - The Brits weren't evil enough.

Yes! That's totally it.

finally got around to watching 'calvary' last night. there was a truly excellent movie struggling to get out, but some awful casting choices didn't help it.

Showtime. Eddie Murphy, Robert DeNiro and Rene Russo in a mis-matched buddy cop film. Out in 2002 but looks like from mid to late 90's. Was grand. Not terrible, but not exactly essential viewing either.

Collosus. Quirky film about an alcoholic who controls a gigantic monster that accidentally destroys Seoul. Oh and battles a giant robot there that's the manifestation of her abusive childhood friend. Not bad.

The Goldfinch. Really bad. Completely flat and the acting was just awful. The two actors who played Boris were unbelievably terrible. The casting director should never work again.
Heard it was shite alright. A missed opportunity. Not that the book wasn't without it's flaws either but in the opening could have made for fantastic cinema. Plus a really good director might even iron out some of the flaws in the 2nd half of the book where goes to some silly places if the truth be told.

Had a good weekend of movies. Watched Creep with Mark Duplass, Ingrid Goes West with Aubrey Plaza and Lucky with Harry Dean Stanton. Would recommend all three.

Like they tried to cram the entire plot into a 2 hour movie and it felt rushed and badly planned. Tbh it would have made a much better tv mini series which allowed the plot and characters to breathe
