The only living boy in New Cross
Anti Christ.

Over long and pretentious with symbolism borrowed from a first year fine art end of year show would be shite but it's saved by a nice performance from Charlotte Gainsbourgh, some fine set pieces and the fact it looks incredable. The fact that it caused such a stir makes me think that not too many people watch extreme asian horror much because nothing here is all "that" bad although probably new to many. Not a film I can see my self ever wanting to watch again but that's probably the point.

Not that I disagree with your over all review of the film I for me it was the first time I saw female circumcision performed with an old scissors in screen 17 of Cineworld...

'White Ribbon'; def one of the best films of the decade (seeing as that's how we assess things these days!)

'Thirst'; Interesting take on the vampire movie by Park Chan Wook (Oldboy, Lady Vengence)
Thirst was great. I loved Let the Right One In as well. the Mesrine films were great too... 2009 was a good year for films.

REally enjoyed it (again) - Newman was great in this character driven cop film. It was definally an influence on shows like Hills Street Blues..
