What movie did you watch last night? (10 Viewers)

Athena ..low budget french riot porn. Almost fantastic but sadly not

Just now: Willy's wonderland. Absolutely daft film. Nick cage fighting killer animatronic kids puppets at an abandoned kids restaurant.
Yesterday:
Don't go in the house. Early 80's video nasty about a man with serious mother/ women issues who like to burn his victims alive. Not in the slightest bit fun.

Breaking Glass .... Highly entertaining

On youtube here in hd for anyone interested

Venom (1971)
I bought this dvd last year but only watching it now. Obscure- ish early 70s horror.

Synopsis from the BFI site
English painter, Paul Greville, on a working holiday in Europe, unravels a mystery surrounding a mountain village in Bavaria: a store of priceless paintings are kept to finance a project to produce a nerve drug from the venom of spiders.

It looks good, atmospheric. Loads of autumnal forest scenes, good acting, creepy soundtrack, but very of its time, doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Not bad though. For fans of this kind of thing only. It's available on youtube under the title Spider's venom.

Face/Off for the first time in years.

Still holds up really well. Looks gorgeous, incredible stunt sequences that looked amazingly hard and dangerous to pull off but on screen look a million times better than what their cgi equivalent today would be. A chopper lands on the wing of a plane to stop it taking off FFS.

And what the fuck is up with this?

Last time I watched that I was in some weird pension in Vienna when John Paul II died and it was dubbed into German. Excellent experience.

A serial killer's guide to life. British darkly comic drama about a woman spree killer, killing self help coaches. The twist is a tad obvious, and the kills are mostly off screen, so not to bloody, but it was grand.

This way out. A short by same director and Actress from A serial killer's guide. Again very darkly comic, this time, it's about a clinic where suicidal people can go to be euthanized. Except there's two clinics in the same small town and one is trying not to be closed down. Much preferred this one, much punchier
