The Infernal Machine. Too long, too convuluted and too unlikely. Guy Pearce is always good but I thought this was bad.

Watcher. Pisses all over any new horror I’ve seen in ages. Proper 70s style sleazy psycho thriller made all the more grim and creepy for being set in Bucharest. Not to be confused with the Netflix thing which has the same name. This is way better.

Red Heat (1988)
Remarkably charmless garbage. It felt like it might be amazing but both leads put in terrible performances and pyrotechnics aside the whole thing felt like a damp, dank squib. It was a success but apparently not as successfully as anticipated and at this remove it is easy to see why.
The Nightingale (2018)
I have no idea why I watched this again. It is a beautiful film but feels like a tooth being extracted slowly. You get contact trauma from its awfulness.

Decision to Leave. Park Ji-Sung's newest film. It's fuckin awesome, one of the films of the year, beats the shit out of anything coming out of Hollywood this year. He should 100% get best director for this, so many of the shots and cuts are just fucking brilliant, really funny at times too.
