According to the internet it's not "personal debt", he's just been financing his "projects" (runners, fashion, short film) with his own cash, of which he makes about $20-$30 million a year.

Friend of mine is basically 100% convinced that Kanye has just been having a massive, extended breakdown since his mother died and his music has been suffering as a result.

Jabut I mean some of them were as deadly if not deadlier than what he's put out before. Taking a glance at his discography it is pretty astounding how much ground he has covered since '03.

No doubt!

I like him when he's not banging on about how he's aware of his own public persona or about how he wants to be known for changing the world. I think for some people that meta shtick going around and around, bigger and bigger is what they like about him, an almost Derrida meets pop art kinda thing, but I find it ultimately hollow....
