Not sure about it. It's proper fucking mean spirited dark. Lacks the buffoonery and "love to hate" aspect of Eastbound and Down which was a masterpiece.
And not to be a filthy SJW but the two white guys attempting to take down a powerful black woman feels a bit iffy. I think it's just tonally off. If it was done in Eastbound in Down it would have been supported by the fact that Kenny Powers was such a hilarious love-able dickhead. In this the waters are muddier, the Walton Goggins character is just an evil dickhead and McBride (who I still think is the funniest man alive) is doing a more toned down KP.
