Well, I've haven't had the chance to talk about it since I saw it. Most of what I have seen lately hasn't been worth discussion. I also changed broken to gutted because I think it describes how I saw the characters (or how they were written) a bit better. The frame is there but nothing is left inside. It's all been torn away.

Yeah I can see how that might have been what he was aiming for, but they were still too boring for me to care. I don't know if you can do completely broken and empty without veering into dull, which is my issue.

Unless you have two of the best actors on the planet doing it. Maybe it was just miscast. They should have had Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Meryl Streep, problem solved.
