Im still thinking Frank might be an unreliable narrator. Basically he sabotaged the deal for reasons we don't yet know. The thing about him being pissed over losing his money is a front.

Kind of glad we know the fate of Ray. It'll just be disappointing if he's dead. Now if that camera feed was set up to show someone killing him then is the crowman going against orders by faking Ray's murder or what?

I liked the opening bit with Frank talking about the basement. Nice nod to the whole "time is a flat disc" speeches from Cole in S1 with Frank wondering if he's still in that basement (like Cole theorising that the two kids they find will always be in that hut).

A lot of not-so-subtle allusions to sexuality and impotency with motorcycle Paul chomping on the Viagra in the first episode and him getting worked up over being hit on by a man. Also that bit where they show Caspere's destroyed genitals and it cuts to Paul looking wounded. I can see him coming up against Ani's strong character in future episodes as he seems completely broken. Or I'm completely off.

Mixed feelings about this week's episode. Liked the dream sequence and enjoying Ray and Ani's burgeoning friendship. The scene at the mayor's house made me cringe though. They're starting to amp up the weirdness which I like. Bet next week's will be balls out mental.

What was with the weird music cues last night? Like there'd be odd dissonant music over seemingly banal and unimportant conversations. Were they just trying to go all out Lynch? Didn't really have the same effect...

I didn't like it. They're trying too hard without really landing many punches. Although like you there's still a fair amount to keep you interested. Ray and Ani's relationship chief among them. At least they gave Vince a fight scene he was beginning to look like the puniest crime boss ever. Still not really buying him though.

That didn't jump out at me, seemed pretty much the same as the last couple of episodes in relation to the music.
