I wish they included the b-sides bonus album that was on the early versions of Dry. Or she did a big b-sides box set like the Nick Cave one from a few years back.PJ Harvey - Dry
One of the most striking debuts of the 90’s; a bone-dry, furious, adrenaline-powered take on super raw, sculpted Blues that still hits like nothing else almost 3 decades later. Released in 1992 on Too Pure at a time when they were basically shaping music habits with eclectic determination...boomkat.com
I think there is a separate release for Dry DemosI wish they included the b-sides bonus album that was on the early versions of Dry. Or she did a big b-sides box set like the Nick Cave one from a few years back.

Gas interview here:I’m not sure I even like Prince but that looks amazing from a pure music archaeology point of view. Prince is the Billy Colgan of whatever it is The Smashing Pumpkins isn’t.

He’s been promising that Machina box set for ages now. On one hand, I really liked that album (I saw them in the Olympia on that tour and still have the t-short) and the weird 2CD free download album that appeared alongside it and would like it all together. On the other hand, if he messes about with it too much I’ll be pissed.I backed out but I was following Colgan on insta for a while. (this will never happen) but he's talking about retiring in 4-5 years, working through the reissues now. That final album of the golden era is getting the 'what colgan wanted to release' treatment and tbh - pretty curious about it in terms wether he's gonna release something that is mellon collie league or is he gonna strip all the bits I like about it away and make it impenatrably long. All the nerds keep saying the good stuff never makes the albums anymore, and haven't since the millenium.
I think I have Sign O’The Times on CD upstairs, I must dig it out again. I can’t remember a thing about it.Gas interview here:
Prince archivist Michael Howe talks SDE through Sign O’ The Times bonus cuts | superdeluxeedition
he was the guy who actually had to call Prince and talk him down from a triple record to a double record; which Lenny himself did through gritted teeth. Initially, as I understand it, Prince was not particularly receptive, but the following morning he delivered a redacted version of Crystal Ball and basically said “here’s your record, put it out.”
I actually have a copy of the triple record - a bootleg of tape copy of it came out a few years ago - it's a fascinating listen but i'm not sure it fully works. Maybe on vinyl? Nothing to do with the quality of the other tracks, some of which I even prefer to what's on the released album, but it feels all of the place. The weirdest thing about it is that the title track of Sign O'The Times was originally somewhere like halfway through side 5, totally lost towards the end of the album.
Its kind of like a summary of everything he did up to that point, like a best of through new songs. It did take me a little while to get into it, but there's a solid argument for it being his best album.I think I have Sign O’The Times on CD upstairs, I must dig it out again. I can’t remember a thing about it.
