thread for old songs with mad videos you'd never seen til now (2 Viewers)

There were posters of Lisa Dominique and Vixen in our first band room. It started us out on our sexist road of rockin' misogyny.

i know this song from a pretty poor miami vice soundtrack LP i bought about 10 years ago, but only just saw the MAD VIDEO

I didn't realise until very recently that they were the backing band for Cyndi Lauper's She's so Unusual album. A definite career highlight since I went and listened to their own stuff and they are UTTER SHITE.

FYI.

literally watching this for the first time ever right now

not sure i approve of the miami sound machine being erased from history.

good wikipedia article on this video though

At the beginning of the music video, which was shot on location on the rooftop of the Bacardi Imports building where Enrique Garcia and Emilio Estefan worked for a short time, Gloria Estefan is singing and dancing on the roof of a tall building, in front of frantic crowd. Estefan is calling for Dr. Beat, which is played by songwriter and drummer Enrique Garcia, to help cure her from her desire to dance continuously. Dr. Beat takes her from the scene to the hospital, as Estefan performs a choreography on the way. In the hospital, Dr. Beat conducts some investigations and performs surgery on Estefan. In the end a boom box is removed from inside of Estefan.

I posted this elsewhere a year or two back but it deserves a place in here

I remember seeing loads of pictures of Lisa Dominique in metal hammer & kerrang, but I never heard a note of her music..... Until today

True, but I would have appreciated the video at the time. I had to make do with Sabrina's boys boys boys video on Super Channel.
We had a 6ft poster of her in the nip (apart from opera gloves) in out first band room. We weren't too concerned about the quality of her music
I think it came with Kerrang. I couldn't find it on the net

It might have been on the reverse side of this. It was part of this series anyway
