RTÉ urged to promote Irish music and artists

Tune into the new Willie Penrose radio show, 24 hours a day on Bog FM, where 40% of music played will be guaranteed Irish. Only thing, Willie doesn't know 'cool' music, or anything much that isn't Nathan Carter (who qualifies as Irish under the Jack Charlton/Tony Cascarino/David Grey/Charlie Landsborough parentage rule), so expect lots of Nathan Carter (4 out of every 10 songs).

ol' Willie is barking up the wrong tree methinks.
there are large chunks of the world that are not even on the radar of Irish radio (including many European countries).
how much Asian, Latin American and African music get played by RTE etc. ?
even Irish Language music gets plenty of airplay compared to those regions.

Remember the night time show on Radio na Gaeltacha (sic) that has a No English Language music policy ? Great Idea !
BUT... anytime i listened to it the guy missed a trick by playing mostly instrumental IDM style electronica - it didn't seem to occur to him he could play music with non English lyrics ?
(i have only occasionally listened to this show so i could be wrong but that's my experience).
also playing multiple tracks for 30 minutes without speaking in between and telling the listener what you are playing is not very clever either.
