They shot the video in Donegal?

edit. Yes, they did.

"There are at least three different edits of this 1990 video in circulation. I had the same style shirt in five colours so "We need more shirt changes!" was apparently one of the reasons. It was shot in Ireland (where we were rehearsing for the 'Submarine Bells' world tour) so locations were found that looked like New Zealand. Spot the wild goat which arrived and nearly boarded our bus. Just as we'd finished filming me singing on that rock a giant wave arrived and nearly swept me away"

Not sure what to make of the video, but...

My ongoing struggle to convince herself to listen to BBC6 instead of a playlist of noughties Nu-Metal and Skate Punk have taken a step forward with this. She likes women with guitars who rock out. She is one.

Anyway, I think it's a banging tune. NEEDS LOUD.

Is it a piss take? I can't tell. It is definitely an earworm and brilliantly done yacht rock.
I've never seen a video of these guys before, only ever heard them on the radio. I thought they were a bunch of Shoreditch hipsters being, like, totally ironic.

War on Drugs are a one-trick pony of a band but it's a good trick, I quite like it at times I have to say. There has to be a Lana Del Rey collab down the line.

Got this album out of Ballyroan library, and keep playing this song. Pretty good album, but this song...

Ridiculous production from Kieran Hebden. That lush instrumentation that comes in at the two minute mark... oof.

Excellent selection of DVDs in that library. Comfortably the best of the libraries in terms of DVDs. Closest to an old school video store. They have some Atom Egoyans which is nice.

Also when you come out, you get this calming view of triangular suburban houses with the rowed timber on the upper structure of the houses. Makes you feel like you're on some leafy street in Wisconsin, and not uh, Ballyroan.

I only heard this for the first time recently. Just a great George Harrison style melody and not overwrought and over egged like much of ELO's stuff. And, just as the title says, I can't get it out of my head
