Not sure what I did there....
Anyway...hopefully the book itself comes before the storm finally demolishes out little mailbox. I had a quick gander, it's great. It's funny, I never used the website that much but I can see myself going to this book fairly regularly.

Looks like this would have been a good night out:

I didn't know where else to put this. This is the closest thing to a recent The Fall thread.

Out in a month.

Psyched for this as I believe this Bob Stanley guy is quite the writer when it comes to the pop culture stuff.

Only ever read that book 'The Fallen' which is good craic too.

Must hunt up that memoir thing too...

Been listening to a lot of The Fall this year. They're a great winter band - they seem to fit the short, bitter days like a much used, much loved, musty old pair of gloves.

Doesn't that bass sound just make you smile?

Not a mega Fall fan but really like what I know. Thought the book Renegade was hilarious. The fall through the words of MES. Some very funny moments. Also The Big Midweek by bassist Steven Hanley was a fantastic account of them up to the mid to late 90s or whenever it was he left

Cool. I must check that out. The Big Midweek.

There's a lot to get into alright.

Every post should be accompanied by a tune. The searing guitar solo that kicks in 3/4s way through is totale-ly winning.

Brilliant doc, although I got a bit annoyed by Fall Fan Dave, who thinks he has the unique inside track on why the Fall were great.

Any chance you'd give us a lend of that?

i've been really back on one with the fall in 2021. classic period stuff mainly, room to live/perverted by language/wonderful and frightening world of/this nation's saving grace/curios orang. it's very hard to beat the fall imo - truly one of the best bands there's ever going to be. feels like longer than two years since he died.

i really love the songs where he's talking first person style from some character he made up:
