The Curious Works of Roger Doyle (1 Viewer)

Thought it would be better to be honest but hard to cover anyone who's released 27 albums in 70 odd minutes.
e.g. Roger's self released first LP wasn't mentioned.
Still essential viewing.

Operating Theatre? I thought that was released by United Dairies?

I haven’t watched this yet, thanks for the heads up @ann post

Oizzo No (1975) was his first LP. re-released on LP by Cacophonic/Finders Keepers in 2018.

also Thalia (1978) his second one was reissued on LP in 2019.
apart from that I only know bits and pieces of Roger's work.

Roger did a good doc series in the late 2000's about the history of electronic music on Lyric FM which covered everything from Joe Meek to Stockhausen to Beatles to Kraftwerk to Japan to Cybotron to Aphex Twin and also musique concrete, electro acoustic etc.

I've been picking up a few CDs from his Badcamp of late- this is probably my favourite:

Got those two reissues as well recently- I'm not a massive concrète head to be honest but they have their moments. Am guessing their desirability is mainly influsenced by him being on the NWW list way back when..

The Operating Theatre reissue on Allchival is superb tho..

I haven’t kept up with Roger Doyle’s stuff in recent years but there was one from around 10 years ago called Memento Mori that is absolutely exceptional.

It's a fantastic body of work IMO - other albums worth mentioning for sure: Operating Theatre (the early years); Fairlight Memories; Cool Steel Army
I got a copy of Charlotte Corday / Thalia CD on Dom records in the post today :)
Wished I'd bagged a copy of Babel back in the day.
